Punjab Information & Communication Technology Corporation Ltd., earlier known as Punjab State Electronics Development and Production Corporation Limited, was incorporated in 1976, as a state undertaking of Punjab, for the promotion and growth of electronics Industry in Punjab. Now, the corporation is engaged in the promotion of IT, IT enabled services, communications and electronics industry in Punjab. The corporation has developed an area of 365 acres as an electronics complex in Phase VIII, VIII (Extension) and IX of Mohali which houses prestigious companies like Quark Media (US), Semi-conductor Complex Ltd., Godrej GE, Puncom and Infosys. With a role of facilitating investment through infrastructure creation, Punjab Infotech in collaboration with the Department of Information Technology, Government of India and national/international business houses is working on following projects: Quark Industrial Park, Mohali; IT park facilities in Patiala, Ludhiana and Jalandhar.
